Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 24 July 2026

Albion Platform is provided by Markley IT Consultancy & Secure Storage ("we", "us"). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this application, whatever assistive technology they use.

Standard we're aiming for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, the widely used benchmark for web accessibility, and the practical standard we're held to under the Equality Act 2010's duty not to discriminate against disabled users. This isn't a legal requirement in the way it is for public-sector services, but we treat it as the right bar for a business tool real people rely on.

What we've done

  • Every page is reachable and usable by keyboard alone, including modals (focus moves into them on open, is trapped inside while open, and returns to what you were doing when they close).
  • A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — status badges, links within body text, and form errors all carry a text or icon cue as well as colour.
  • Interactive elements meet a minimum 24×24px touch/click target.
  • Automated checks (axe-core) run across every page group — lists, forms, detail views, reports, and settings — alongside manual keyboard and screen-reader spot checks.

Known limitations

We're not aware of any WCAG 2.2 AA failures in the core invoicing, customer, expense, quote, or reporting workflows as of the date above. Known gaps, honestly:

  • A small, non-functional two-factor-authentication mockup on our internal style guide page (not a real feature, not reachable in normal use of the app) has a minor colour-contrast gap we haven't prioritised fixing.
  • Automated tools only catch roughly a third of real accessibility issues — we've paired them with manual checks, but a genuinely exhaustive screen-reader audit of every page hasn't been done by a specialist.

Reporting a problem

If you find something in this application that's hard to use with a keyboard, screen reader, or other assistive technology, tell us — we want to know and we'll fix it. Contact administrator@albion-platform.co.uk with what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
